Our bright and homely baby room provides a stimulating and cosy environment, which offers a variety of opportunities to stimulate babies active minds to encourage their learning and development, through use of all their senses.

Our spacious baby room provides a safe and secure area, where they can explore and access age appropriate toys at their level and to help promote independence.

Our baby staff are qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and Education and regularly attend relevant courses to extend their knowledge of providing the highest quality of care for your baby. 

Our open-plan Pre-school floor offers a fun and educational approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. Our qualified staff provide a variety of activities and equipment for the children to access at all times. Here at Farthing Wood we believe that each child is an individual and should be given choices in each aspect of their learning. By observing your child we can recognise areas that are of interest and put these into our planning, by adapting children's life experiences and interests and helping them acquire the skills they need to develop in each area of learning.

We have a safe and secure outdoor play area, which is available for all rooms to use on a rotational basis, to ensure that all children have sufficient time to explore their outside environment.

All children are given the opportunity to play outside, where there are a variety of suitable toys for each age range to access. We have in place a 'whatever the weather' policy, therefore asking Parents to provide suitable attire to allow your child to encounter the aspects of outdoor experiences. We are also fortunate to be in walking distance of Manor

Heath park and Skircoat Green Library, which we go to on a regular basis, ratio permitting.

We provide double and single pushchairs, with rain covers and sun umbrellas to ensure babies and tweenies are also able to access our local amenities.
